If you missed our first installment of ‘Page Twenty-Six’ honoring the great Jerry Ostroski, former fantabulous Buffalo Bills offensive lineman and now suave podcaster, click here. When the spirit moves me, I’ll be posting my thoughts about some person, place or thing that deserves a shout out for whatever crazy reason tickles my deteriorating brain.
On to this week’s blabber.
We all know about Muskrat Love. Great song, strange choice of mammal. This week we’re showing some TrainWreck Love going on at Bills’ training camp… and we are here for all of it.
Disclaimer: I have history with this outstanding group of perplexing individuals associated with TrainWreck Sports. There’s a special place in my heart for OG Zach Sheldon (@MANIAC) and the rest of the degenerates I encountered some years ago on this thing we call social media. TrainWreck Sports does a bang up job covering my alma mater University at Buffalo sports. Some years ago I contacted them and they graciously invited me to write for them as well as become a podcast guest from time to time on Pay the Bills podcast with Jake Watkins and Kevin Massare.
The rest of the crew is amazing as well. This season at camp Mike Bundt has been covering camp and doing a bang up job of it. His reporting is top notch and for those of us who cannot attend camp, it’s a godsend. So big thanks to Mike for his analysis and observations. And thanks to TrainWreck Sports for bringing a sense of humor to what can only be described as the dog ‘swamp ass’ days of summer.
Onward.

The biggest camp gossip this week obviously surrounds RB James Cook’s “business” decision to sit out practices starting on Sunday. Hard Knocks finally got the drama they were looking for, but it might be a little more difficult to document than they think.
James Cook’s never been known as a jovial kind of guy. Tre White he is NOT. And we know Brandon Beane isn’t going to be loose lipped about anything, let alone a contract negotiation. The rest of the players will likely respond with some version of what RB Ty Johnson said when asked about Cook on Monday. He basically said the man is taking care of his business and he respects that.

I’m not sure what to expect when the first episode of Hard Knocks airs on HBO Tuesday evening (9 p.m. ET). It wouldn’t be right if Tre’Davious White isn’t a big part of the storyline. His personality alone merits its own episode and what Tre went through recovering from ACL surgery and a ruptured Achilles make his story with Buffalo a compelling one. But there are also many other stories to be told.
We’ll find out soon enough.
This fan base will watch with a very critical eye to ensure the authenticity of our unique culture is portrayed as it should be for the rest of the nation. After all, we aren’t just an average NFL fan base and the rest of the world is about to find out why.
