Sammy Watkins was named Pepsi Rookie of the Week for Week 2. The talented wide receiver led all rookie wide-outs with eight receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown.

According to the Bills’ official website, Watkins became the first Bills rookie wide receiver to post a 100-yard game receiving since Lee Evans did so in 2004. Perhaps this was fate, asĀ Evans will be “Leading the Charge” when the Bills take the field against the Chargers on Sunday.
Watkins beat out CB Kyle Fuller of Chicago (2 interceptions), RB Terrance West of Cleveland (68 yards and 1 TD), Cardinals K Chandler Catanzaro (4 FG made), and Washington RB Silas Redd (41 yards and 1 TD).
EJ Manuel won this honor in Week 2 last season after leading the Bills to victory over the Carolina Panthers. In Week 4 of 2013, Kiko Alonso was named Pepsi Rookie of the Week after having five total tackles and two interceptions against the Baltimore Ravens.
