A few weeks ago, Kelly had scans done at Lenox Hill Hospital. The scans showed no signs of cancer cells in his sinuses and jaw. The biopsies were done to confirm the scans.
After receiving the tremendous news, Kelly released the following statement:
This is some of the greatest news I’ve ever gotten,” Kelly said. It’s been a long road, and I’m still not back to 100%, but I have a lot to be thankful for. I am so thankful for the support and prayers of my family, my friends near and far, and everyone in Western New York and throughout the country through my illness. I also want to thank the medical specialists who have done such amazing work,” continued Kelly. “Most of all, I want to thank God. Without my faith and God’s constant presence, there would be no such thing as ‘Kelly Tough.’
Kelly shared the great news with his daughter Erin on the phone. Jim’s wife Jill recorded the call and posted the video on her Instagram:
Don’t let anyone ever tell you that Jim Kelly didn’t win the big one. Today he was victorious in the greatest battle of his life.
