UPDATED: Memorial Tailgate for Mr. Wilson

Join us THIS SUNDAY (March 30th) 1-5pm at THE WINGS FLIGHT PARKING LOT, 3964 California Road (right behind Ralph Wilson Stadium) as we say thank you to Mr. Wilson the best way Bills fan know how, with a tailgate. Gates will be open and you can begin getting situated at 11:30am.

With space for hundreds of cars, we feel The Wings Flight Parking Lot is the best way to accommodate any and all who want to celebrate Mr. Wilson’s legacy with us.

Parking is a $10 donation to Hunter’s Hope in honor of Mr. Wilson… And if you feel led to pony up a larger donation than that, we’re not going to turn your money away. :)

Please note that we are guests of the Wings Flight Parking Lot and are expected to behave as such. This is a well established, well known tailgate location that has grown to have a wonderful reputation over the years, and we would like to keep it that way. We want everyone to have a great time, but please be respectful; failure to do so will result in your being asked to leave the event.

Food and beverages will not be provided with your donation; however, the Roaming Buffalo food truck and a few other local WNY businesses will be on hand, with 10% of profits being donated to Hunter’s Hope as well. Part of the move to this lot also brings with it a cash bar and other amenities.

We ask that if you choose to bring alcohol, that you observe the law. Underage drinking will not be tolerated. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

See you Sunday. Go Bills.

About Del Reid

Del Reid became a Bills fan shortly after coming into this world, having been raised in a home that actually had a framed picture of OJ Simpson on the wall in the living room (until it came down in 1994). Del has always had a passion for bringing people together to celebrate things they share in common. As a result, he (quite accidentally) ended up co-founding the #BillsMafia movement among Bills fans in social media -- which to this point is the coolest thing that has ever happened to him aside from his relationship with God, his wife, and his two awesome kids. 1. This isan awesome idea!

WHEC Channel 10 in Rochester is running a story on this. It’s also posted on their FB page, complete with a link to this site, which is how I found it. You’re going to need way more than 100 spots. Way, way more.

  2. Any further details? We have a bunch of people planning on renting a limo for this. Is there room for a limo, or can we have the limo drop us off…so we can set up camp in a spot. Obviously we’re good with paying with or without a car!!

Also…there is a rumoring going around that this may be moved to another location? Any truth to that?

Thanks…trying to plan the day for a bunch of us, so any help is greatly appreciated.

  3. I also have a large group coming by way of limousine. We’d like to purchase a few spots to maybe set up folding tables, chairs, etc. Will we be able to walk on site once dropped off, not necessarily parking in the lot itself?

  4. I would love to buy a Ralph Wilson jr Bills jersey. I don’t think anyone sells them.

  5. Yeaf def gunna b there Sun . keep us updated wit info n location ! Wooh BILLS Baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. This could & is going to be real big for the Mr Wilson & The Buffalo Bills & the greatest fans in the world ! They should open the Field House too ! Let’s go Buffalo !

  7. I really wish I could be there with you all in person. I will be there in spirit and look forward to seeing many of you when the season gets here. Cheers!

  8. There won’t be enough room at the grove. Don’t be surprised if there is a dwi check on the way out. You should keep it at the stadium parking lot. That’s where we’ll be.

  9. I love this idea! But please be smart and DO NOT drink and drive. It’s not funny. Get a DD or call Designated Drivers of Buffalo at 713-7703; they will take you and your car home. And when Bills season starts, you can sign up for the Bills home game service and get home safely every time. RIP, Mr. Wilson and #prayersforJK!

  10. Is there anything I can do to help organize?
I think tailgating is a great way to celebrate Mr. Wilson’s life. I think he would really enjoy and appreciate that.
But also, it would be nice to have something organized like a candlelight ceremony in his honor. We could walk from the lot to the stadium with our candles. I would donate $ for candles.

  11. My dad and I will be there on Sunday- coming from Rochester because since I was a little girl it’s always been our tradition to go to games together and my dads birthday is Monday.

My dad made a suggestion and I am hoping maybe someone in buffalo could pull it off but someone should bring a big sound system and replay games – especially from the 90s
