It is safe to say that the first 3 weeks have been a bit of a roller coaster for our beloved Bills, and chances are the same can be said for your fantasy teams. As we look through the first 3 weeks, here is my take on the Bills that may be on your fantasy radar.
Wow. Not exactly the start owners were looking for when they drafted Spiller in the first round. If you own Spiller you can expect some low-ball offers as some will expect you to be in panic mode. You don’t sell your top pick for 50 cents on the dollar, so don’t hit the panic button here. On the flip side, don’t be afraid to throw an offer out to Spiller-owners in your league. They may be ready to bail, and you could find a nice bargain.
Through 3 weeks Fred Jackson is the 10th ranked running back in PPR leagues. In the preseason I thought Jackson would get 10 touches a game, and through 3 weeks he is averaging 15 a week. As those numbers continue Jackson should be considered as an RB2 moving forward.
Currently the 15th rated receiver in PPR leagues, Stevie is putting to rest any doubts about his production being linked to the departed Ryan Fitzpatrick. He is on pace for 90+ receptions, 1,200+ yards, and 10+ touchdowns. And based on the Bills’ secondary woes, there is a good chance that plenty of passes will be thrown as the team plays catch-up in games this season. Start Johnson with confidence.
Thanks to a big stat line against the Jets, Chandler comes in at #14 on the TE rankings in PPR leagues. Chandler remains a bye-week fill in, or a possible starter in very deep leagues. Don’t get too excited about last week’s game, but keep an eye on Chandler should he remain a safety valve for EJ Manuel.
At this point I don’t think the Bills D/ST, EJ Manuel, or Robert Woods need to be owned. As the season progresses all three could show improvement (especially the D with the return of Byrd and Gilmore), but don’t jump on this group too early.
Best of luck in your games this weekend and go Bills!
