The 2nd Annual Official #BillsMafia TweetUp

Group shot!
How big will the Tweet Up be this year?
This is just a sampling of those who attended in 2011.

Ok, so here’s the announcement you’ve been waiting for…

The 2nd Annual Official #BillsMafia TweetUp is going to be the PATRIOTS game on SEPTEMBER 30TH.

Before we get into any other details, we want to express a sincere thanks to Don Tober (@DTOBER82) and the Coffin Corner crew for hosting last year’s event (and subsequent games for those who loved it so much they kept coming back!). Really, THANK YOU DON. Without your help, last year would not have happened.

Since last October’s event, there has been a large group that has expressed a desire to have this year’s gathering in a more central location. This makes sense since in the days following October 9th, many people said things like “I couldn’t find you guys” or, “I would have come but it was too far.” While we don’t really think any distance is too far to travel when it comes to hanging with fellow Mafians (just ask Bre, who drove up from Virginia!), we want to make sure that we’re as accessible as possible.

So we’re going to switch it up this year. The 2012 Official TweetUp is going to be hosted at “Hammer’s Lot” on Jim Kelly Blvd., aka Abbott Road. This is the same lot that has hosted the annual “Two Bills Drive” tailgate for 13 years, and also hosted WGR 550’s pregame show until their partnership began with the team this year.

Click here for more information about Hammer’s Lot:

While anyone is welcome to stroll through and hang out as long as they like, we’re going to begin taking RSVPs soon so that we can provide the lot owner with an approximate car count, per his request. Stay tuned for when we begin requesting that info from you guys.

Again, we want to emphasize that we owe Don and the Coffin Corner Tailgate a sincere debt of gratitude for assisting with the 2011 event and look forward to possibly working with them again in the future.

Thanks everyone for your patience, we know you’ve been anxious for us to nail down a date since the schedule was released two months ago. Now onward to another great memory in the making!

Your #BillsMafia OGs,
Bre, Del, and Leslie

About Del Reid

Del Reid became a Bills fan shortly after coming into this world, having been raised in a home that actually had a framed picture of OJ Simpson on the wall in the living room (until it came down in 1994). Del has always had a passion for bringing people together to celebrate things they share in common. As a result, he (quite accidentally) ended up co-founding the #BillsMafia movement among Bills fans in social media -- which to this point is the coolest thing that has ever happened to him aside from his relationship with God, his wife, and his two awesome kids. Follow him on Twitter at @mrdeadlier.
