Mafia Monday Interview with @Michael_Necci

Welcome back to our fifth edition of Mafia Monday! And the first to follow A WIN OVER TOM BRADY AND THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!

Mafia Monday is an interactive element where members of the community can get to know each other and build unity by becoming transparent.

This week we sit down with @Michael_Necci, one of the three “Made Men” in the #BillsMafia. (See the front page of regarding what the heck that means).

So without any further adieu…

How long have you been a Bills Fan, and what’s your earliest Bills memory?
1980 Bills/Dolphins when Buffalo ended “The Streak” vs Miami. I vividly remember watching on TV as the fans stormed the field. Ending “The Streak” vs New England will be just as sweet.

What is your favorite Bills memory?
I was at the 51-3 game vs the Raiders, so I would have to say that. Knowing that the Buffalo Bills, my Buffalo Bills, would be playing in the SUPER BOWL was so hard to comprehend. I just couldn’t believe it. The atmosphere in that stadium was incredible. To this day I still have yet seen a team be that much dominate in a playoff game. The Bills were literally unstoppable.

What was the first Bills game you attended? Most memorable?
First Bills game I attended was September of ’85 vs The Vikings.. The Bills lost. Most memorable game was the one above, but I also was the Comeback game vs Houston so that’s up there as well.

Do you own any Bills jerseys, and if so what ones?
No Bills jerseys. I had a Trent Edwards jersey, how did that work out for me?

Favorite current Bill?
Marcel Dareus. That kid is going to be a STUD.

Favorite former Bill?
The obvious answer is Jim Kelly, but my favorite is Darryl Talley. Talley’s hardwork, and lunch pail attitude was perfectly equaled the City of Buffalo, & the fans at that time.

What is your favorite team to watch lose to the Bills?
It will be the Patriots whenever the Bills decide to let it happen.
Editor’s note: This interview was done a few weeks ago, so I imagine @Michael_Necci is feeling pretty jazzed right now.

Best tailgate food?
Grilling is always fun. But I always enjoy a nice sub from Wegmans on gameday. Easy to eat, easy clean up. Fills you up perfectly.

Other sports you enjoy following? If so, favorite teams?
Los Angeles Lakers, New York Yankees, Notre Dame Football, & Tar Heels Basketball.

Lastly, what does “Bills Mafia” mean to you?
It means being a dedicated fan. Bills fans have been thru A LOT since 2001. Bad ownership, awful drafts, bad football management, etc. We have struggled so long, I think it’s important that us fans stick together and no mater how bad it is, how irrelevant we have become, we have to remember to Bill-ieve. Bills Mafia is having loyalty & faith that at some point this will get turned around. And when it does? We, the Bills Mafia, can say we never doubted and always believed. And now w/ the twitter we have proof that we never left. Maybe some of us (including me) doubted a little, but we are loyal.

About Del Reid

Del Reid became a Bills fan shortly after coming into this world, having been raised in a home that actually had a framed picture of OJ Simpson on the wall in the living room (until it came down in 1994). Del has always had a passion for bringing people together to celebrate things they share in common. As a result, he (quite accidentally) ended up co-founding the #BillsMafia movement among Bills fans in social media -- which to this point is the coolest thing that has ever happened to him aside from his relationship with God, his wife, and his two awesome kids.
